The time I spent getting to know Virgil, he always expressed how much he loved that Monica and I share the same wanderlust, obsessed with the outdoors, and toying with photography. 

While going through these old photos of Monica's parents, I see direct parallels with our lifestyles. Right down to the compositions, taken with the same vintage Canon AE-1 that we use for most of our adventure photos. I realize now why he always made it a point to note how happy he was to see the things I post on my blog and tell him about the places we would find hiking into Southern Missouri. 

Monica has been spending her week back in LA, helping Day 19 set up their final group show hosted at THIS gallery LA. She has a piece in this show along side some of my art and illustration industry heroes, Tim Biskup and Shepard Fairey for starters. I saw Ed Templeton, Aaron Rose, and David Choe on the email list, but not sure if they are in. Sounds like people will be delivering art all of the way up to the opening.

Running through the list of participants was pretty mind blowing. Should be a great time. Come out if you are in LA.

If you are in LA, then you should probably go to this next Thursday. I get back in town that evening, so I suppose I will be heading straight there.

I am glad I got to know you over the last two and a half years. You were a great man and fathered the most special girl I have ever met. You were smart as can be, tolerant, and open minded to those who were different from you.

RIP Virgil. You will be missed.

This is my Saturday morning ritual. I love living here. This is 60% the reason why I am in California.

I woke up Easter Sunday morning free from fever so I decided to go for a long morning moto through the mountains. That plan was quickly changed when I discovered that my plates were expired. The police presence seems to be a little thicker here and very eager to pull you over.

Sooo I went on a morning hike instead. I managed to hike directly into the low hanging clouds and snapped some photos while I was hiking. Quite the temperature change once crossing into the fog.
